Interview by Claire Centeno
One of the most memorable stories was when Mrs. Frankel was the first female head of the Chamber of Commerce as well as the youngest ever. A meeting needed to be held, and the plan was to go to one of the many law offices in downtown Clayton to use a conference room. However, when they arrived, they were told that women were not allowed on that floor of the building. The meeting could obviously not go on without her, so they were forced to go to a different location. This was the 70’s and they actually had rules against women being on certain floors of the buildings. To learn more about Robyn Frankel, please listen to the interview !
